What to Expect When You Visit Us

If you've never visited Sacred Tapestry, you may be wondering what to expect at our worship.  Our worship space has comfortable chairs and tables instead of traditional pews.  We are prepared for all ages. We also welcome  (well behaved) pets in worship with you.

The complimentary brunch line (pot luck) might simply be some fresh fruit, cold cereals and muffins, or you may be treated to a full table of hot choices like hash browns and breakfast casseroles, pasta dishes, baked chicken and rice, biscuits & gravy, fresh garden salads, butter rolls, fruit & nut breads, cookies, donuts and cakes.

appealGreetings and morning announcments begin about 11:00am, feel free to warm up your coffee, settle in, visit with your neighbor and enjoy the musical stylings of Ben Davidson on the keyboard. A new teaching based on scripture is presented each week, and usually lasts about 15 minutes.  After that, we collect the offering and celebrate Holy Communion.  We have an "open table" which means everyone is welcome to participate in Holy Communion, but if you are not comfortable receiving Communion, it's perfectly fine to meditate, pray, or just enjoy the music.

We usually finish up Communion a bit before noon, but there is no rush to leave!  We also have an outdoor seating area with a speaker system so you can sit outside and hear the music and message, and of course get your snacks and coffee as well.

You are welcome to dress comfortably, whatever that means for you. You will see people wearing bluejeans and flip flops, casual dresses, t-shirts and shorts, golf shirts, occasionally a suit jacket.  We hope you'll come visit.  We really do.  It's pretty cool!

 Hebrews 10:24-25

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

I have rolled up my life; He cuts me off from the loom; from day to night Thou dost bring me to an end. Isaiah 38:12

A human life is likened unto a tapestry that is to be woven. Day by day the shuttle moves back and forth, and the tapestry grows. As thread is laid upon thread, the design begins to emerge. A thread is such a tiny thing. And yet the whole tapestry is made up of such threads. If some threads are improperly woven, the whole design will be marred.

A day appears so small and insignificant. And yet each day is a part of my whole life. If each single thread is lived improperly and carelessly, what will this do to the design of my life?

When the tapestry is finished, it is rolled up, and the ends of the threads are cut off. then it can be woven no more. It is put away until the day when it is placed on exhibition and judged.

Dear God, grant that the tapestry of my life may be properly woven I give Thee the shuttle. Do with me as Thou wilt, if only Thy image may some day be the design of my tapestry when the threads of my life are cut off, and the tapestry is judged.
